Swasth, a telemedicine platform has announced that Dr Ajay Nair will be their lead as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), with effect from September 12, 2020.
Dr Nair is the first CEO of this indigenous mobile app-based service which was launched in June as India’s first big push towards mass adoption of digital healthcare. He joins Team Swasth with over 14 years of experience in the healthcare sector, holding significant experience in telemedicine, public health, health-tech entrepreneurship, med-tech, healthcare policy and social impact investing.
Dr Nair MBBS MPH is an alumnus of Grant Medical College and Harvard University. He is currently an advisor to Fortune 500 companies, digital health innovators, non-profits and governments, for designing innovative medical and health-tech offerings, as well as business models. In 2010, he co-founded and led MeraDoctor to become one of India's largest telemedicine networks, serving over 700,000 patients across every state of the country.
Kris Gopalakrishnan, a key member of the Governing Council said, “We are happy to welcome Dr Ajay Nair to the Swasth team after a rigorous selection process that went on for weeks. We are confident that with his on-ground knowledge and domain expertise, he will lead Swasth to achieve greater excellence in the future.”
